When careful barcode-asset labelling has been applied at installation level and on the various components within machines, these labels could also be used as the basis of a control system. Also provide a barcode on the work order document, so that the technician can scan it with a terminal / device when he is on site. When he then scans the barcode on the component, he gets a GO or a NO-GO. In this way, a considerable error reduction can be achieved.
On the other hand, it would also be possible to ensure that after scanning the barcode on the machine, the technician receives a list of all work orders that are open for that particular machine via his terminal. This terminal could even be used to immediately report minor repairs on the spot.
In the preparation phase before a shutdown, tags (hanging markers) are often placed with a description. When these tags are provided with a barcode, even more detailed information could be visualised when scanning.
