In order to ensure that daily activities run smoothly, 'routes' are often created so that it is easy for an operator/technician to keep track of the points at which he has to stop.
A number of frequently occurring applications:
• Lubrication routes
On the one hand, purely to indicate the various points and their sequence, but one could also place accompanying, practical information for the operator on the label, such as the type of lubricant, frequency, quantity, etc.
The use of barcodes in this application is also a trend.
• Routes for meter reading
Let the operator also enter the meter reading immediately via the barcode terminal.
• Routes for ultrasonic thickness measurements
With this application, also get acquainted with the Altec solution for marking points for ultrasonic thickness measurement. With this standard label, you are able to visualise and map out the various measuring points in the field. In the middle of the label there is a round hole which indicates where the probe/measuring head should be placed. In this way, each measurement is taken at exactly the same position.
Barcode printing is also possible. This way, the technician can also scan after measuring. This gives you a complete inventory of scanned points afterwards and also provides a faithful time registration.
By applying a label per point, one can clearly see at which point one is and what the next destination is.
By means of adapted software on the barcode terminal, you could even perfectly have an informative message appear when the person has skipped a stop.
With each scan on the spot, a time registration can also be kept automatically.
This is a handy tool to check how much time is spent on a route, something that can provide useful and efficient information for the people making the schedules.
