Our "Chocolate Picker" shows the interaction between sensors, drives, controllers, HMI, IO-Link, RFID and the cloud : Visitors can easily assemble three chocolate bars with different flavours, the grippers grab the bars from the conveyor belt using a camera sensor and place them in the selected order on a transport trolley, from which the visitor can then take them. A QR code can also be scanned with a smartphone, which then opens the control and monitoring interface on the visitor's device. This allows system parameters to be changed and adjusted, which are then taken over by the system almost in real time. It is possible to communicate bi-directionally with the picking system in the exhibition hall and control it via a smartphone. This succeeds perfectly with networked sensors, efficient Edge Controllers and a simple cloud solution - in other words, with decentralised automation.
